Our Mission and Creed!

Gangsters of Virtue/ Southeast Survivors

By Steven Leroy Jackson

I have been blessed with another chance to do what I believe to be right on behalf of all the veterans out there homeless and abandon by the military and our current government. It is simply shameful. I would know because I have been there I am currently living at a place called CASS. Things did not have to escalate to the point were I would feel the impulse to confront issues that have been unsolvable all this time. That is right folks I currently a homeless vet who has written letters, filed appeals, been denied services. I left Washington DC and drove across the country3,000 miles  talking to people, smiling at people and helping strangers. We were tired of all the fighting in DC. We were just trying to spread a little bit of comfort along the way. Wanda is my companion and we aim to discover what it is really like to be homeless.

What I will do for the youngins is list the rules of the game!

With all the love, strength, and courage inherent in African Americans, a child should feel safe being raised in our communities and not be terrorized by drugged-up thugs and vulgar women. They punished my father for the wholesaling of illegal drugs, but in his business, this was his code of conduct:

Children are not part of the drug game.*

Trust and believe in God.

Respect your family and your race.

Always set aside quality time for your family.

Never sell drugs from inside your home.*

Never sell drugs in your community.*

Never tell on anyone that is doing what you’re doing.*

Never steal drugs or money from your family or the people who helped you get on.*

Always pay your debts and keep yourself and your home respectable.

Every player gets a few chances to make good on a debt.

Never kill a person who owes you money without letting them try to pay if off. *

Your word is your reputation so keep your commitments.

Always protect your neighborhood from pedophiles or depraved people.

Do not shit where you eat. Keep the street business in the streets.

Do not sell the same drugs you use.*

Perfect your gambling skills so you can always make your money make money.

Do not make deals when you are drunk or high.

Be your own man or woman.

Be careful of what you say on the phone.*

Respect the honest hustle (the working class man).

Never sell drugs to young mothers or do business from their homes.*

Put in a fair share of the work.

If you’re going to do anything illegal, make sure you’re prepared to do time.

Stay sharply dressed; a man dresses for success; the clothes really do make the man.

Don’t start any fight but never walk away from one.

Breaking one of these (*) rules could get you potentially killed if you were a part of this family’s drug enterprise.

What virtues did my family teach me! What could I learn from a few years of knowing an old hustler?

Acceptance

To know you must survive for your family. To face the fact that you may not come home again. You’re leaving your eight young children and your beautiful wife behind.

Bravery

Allows you to face danger of pain without showing fear. Deal with the mob as an equal.

Caution

You get to be called slippery when the police can’t make a case against you.

Curiosity

You have to be in the places where people have money. You can’t be afraid to go into any environment.

Determination

A hustler has to have firmness of purpose.

Devotion

A hustler must exhibit great love or loyalty and enthusiastic zeal to his skills.

Discretion

keeping secrets. To have everyone use pagers and codes in the sixties was cautious.

Flexibility

You might have to make changes to your plan so always have a backup plan

Forgiveness

To stop feeling angry or bitter if you lose and hold no grudge toward a person or about any offense.

Generosity

Sharing the money and prestige with family and friends.

Gentleness

Being sensitive, kind, and soft toward old people and children.

Gratitude

Being thankful to God.

Honesty

Friendly, well meaning, and helpful.

Love

A full sense of underlying oneness with God and kin.

Loyalty

Allegiance to your folks; faithfulness to a person, an ideal, a custom, a cause, or a duty or faith. Pop would not become an informant for the police.

Majesty

The dignity of being able to call yourself a grown man, King of the street huslters.

Moderation

The ability to categorize the priority of a particular need in order to minimize the excessive use of a particular thing used to satisfy that need.

Opens in a sperate window while you read out Mission Statement! If you have a good sense of humor it will crack up up. But I'm Serious> SLG/GOV

My name means "Crown King God has blessed me with a SON" Slipperys' Son Steven Leroy Jackson graduated from Anacostia Senior High School in 1985 and went in the US Army and earned a Unit Presidential Citation Medal and earned the respect of WRAMC and the Pentagon on the day of September 11, 2001. His Big Brothers Kennth and Larry worked to put out the flames at the Pentagon on the same day. We come from a family of national heros with a strong African/Native American and Caucasian heritage.  Just like most folks on the planet today! We are all connected in some way!

This being said my folks are very humble. I wanted to tell a sad story and maybe convince one person to help me. Lawrence, Lester and Morris Jackson of the 1969 DC Blacks Mafia conspiricy trials all paid a high price for their crimes. The Genoves Crime family had no issues with our family because they were real men. They never told on anyone they worked with, they remained silent about their dealings with the Italian Mafia, Mexican/Columbian Mafia and Asia'a ancient Gangs.
Let´s stop the next generation of "Thugs´" and "Gangsters" AKA mostly the mothers or fatherless children in our communities from giving in to a fad of crime. Most black on Black youth crime is due to prison experiences that caused many Black males to suffer from emotional and spiritual ignorance. The U.S. Drug War and Black on Black youth violence must stop.

"We all use to take care of all the other people who  were not our own blood, They later became our own blood through A Hugh and a handshack"

. ----Gary and Lonnie my at BB in Phoenix. We love you and thank you Gary and Lonnie The professionals at the  " AZ Fire DEPT Class A guys"  AZ DEPT of Corrections, AZ State Police aand Phoenix Police Department you are the protectors of our communities and we owe you a debt of thanks at the "CASS Homeless Shelter and The fine staff at VA PHX, AZ,

Sheriff JOE,. we love you and understand we asked God to Bless you> You Friend." ....Steven Leroy Jackson

These games, grude street fights, drug laws and female lust are the real things that are hurting our young and I wish that the story of my amazing family could make someone with real power look at the drug issue from another perspective. Anyone can become a Drug Dealer. We need more Teachers, Doctors, Scientist, Mathematicians, and Lawyers not drug dealers.

My Mother, MAE,  my brothers and sisters had to live with shame but we strived to endure it. We do not want to see this tragic patern continue with the Gangsters and hustlers of our age. It was the horrible fact the fact that our Father Lawrence W. Slippey Jackson, ran a large part of the East Coast Drug Trade along with The original Genovese Crime Family. His Parents mingled with former First Lady ,Eleanor Roosevelt, Mary M. Bethune and other political leaders. Slipperys Father, Rev John H. Jackson,  Built and Incorperated Saint John Baptist Church of Marshall Heights Washington, DC. His Brother Norwood E. Jackson, the first Black Commissioner of Prisons in West Chester County Up-State New York. A $68,000,000.00 Correctional Facility in Valhalla New York was built in his honor. He even spent time with with Bill Cosby as well as Ruby-Dee and Ozzie Davis.

We feared that our father Slippery, could be in prison for life with eight mouths to feed in the streets and Momma devistated. My father and mothers courage, strength and dignity saved our whole family. Dad was wise and thoughtful. He was a Champion.

Education and mentoring throughout from Lawrence W. Slippery Jackson, Anna mae Jackson, my Aunts and Uncles on both sides. Marion Berry Summer Youth Programs, The DC Fire department aand DC Government, The US Army NCOES/OFFICERS/WARRENT OFFICERS, My German families, all the fine Teachers in Washington DC Public Schools and in my lifes path, The DC POLICE Deptment, Officer Friendly Program, DC Recreation Centers across DC, YMCA, Salvation Army on Ost NW, Hillcrest Residence, Woodland Residence, Calvin Woodland, Dukie Blue, TTI, Smithsonian Insttution and WRAMC Police Officers, Adrian Davis, SFC Timms, Boxing Hall of famer , Herbi "Biff" Jones's Son Dave a Champoin trianer. You and so so many  more of my extended family through out the world and siblings saved me and changed my fate. I received many awards and took part in historical events as a result of what people always said about us. "You come from good stock", after you read my book , you will know why my wonderfully bright sisters and brother deserve all the good things that have happend to us and for us over the last 35 years. God Lives in you too. ALL My GOOD Folks in Prison. Keep your head up.(1FAMILY)

Little Lawrence , Momma and Dad We will love you forever.  I have become a Gangster of Virtues for my POP. For my Momma I have gained the Wise Sorrowful Heart. STOP and THINK before you go down the wrong path. You must understand that you are not to lable other blacks as your enemy.

NO MORE KILLINGS. Dance again , Sing again, walk away, talk it out live to fight another day. Just get someone reasonable to advocate for you. Fathers in Prison and in these streets. We are losing our children to these mean street.

Help the Jackson family give back to the black communities and the nation. We are all one nation folks. Mission: Give these young people Gangsters they can admire. Become a Gangster of Virtue!

That is an order from me A Jackson the last of Slippery's Sons I feel I am "Gods witness".  Let's get our families back in order" Smile!!!! You know you wanna smile. Go ahead! I'm smiling at you!
